This red sauce pasta is a fast and easy meal that my kids love, and freezes great for leftovers.

Noodles
1PackageNoodlesWhatever kind you like
Sauce
1Large CanTomato or Pasta Sauce
1Large CanDiced Tomatoes
1Small CanTomato Paste
1lbGround MeatIdeally Beef, but use whatever you have. Theoretically optional.
1/2lbMushroomsOptional
1tbspCooking OilCanola is good, but use whatever you have
Spices
1tspSalt
1tspPepper
1tbspGarlic Powder
1tbspOnion Powder
1tbspItalian Themed Spice Mix
Instructions
Put a large pot of water on. Use it to cook the noodles per the instructions on the package.
Fry the meat and/or mushrooms in oil, in sauce pan, on medium heat, until they are nicely browned. Add the spices while they cook.
Reduce heat on sauce pan to low. Add tomatoes, sauce, and pasta. Simmer on low for 10-15 minutes.

Notes
If fresh onions are preferred over onion powder, dice 1 large onion and cook with meat/mushrooms.
Spices listed are suggestions, adjust spices to taste.
Leftover sauce can be frozen and reheated in the microwave for easy meals in the future. I prefer half cup portions for individual meals, but do what works for you.
